Before you buy
The questions we get asked every week
Still not sure? A specialist who has spec'd a few hundred cellars will take the call.
Cellar volume is only the start — glazing, insulation, ceiling height, the wall the cellar shares with a kitchen and your local climate all move the number. The heat load calculators ask for each of those and return a BTU figure, then we match units to it. Sizing on bottle count alone is the single most common mistake.
If you have an adjacent room to exhaust into and the cellar is under about 1,000 cubic feet, self-contained is the cheapest and quickest. If noise matters or there is nowhere to vent, go split. If nothing may be visible inside the cellar — glass rooms especially — ducted is the answer.

Connoisseur Series Wine Coolers:
Smoked Black Stainless Steel
The Smoked Black Stainless Steel Coolers aesthetic merit lies in its unique, smudge-proof black stainless steel finish. The finish makes it simple to integrate with other black stainless appliances while its easy-to-clean tempered glass door (glass is framed with black stainless steel) adds another level of elegance as it provides a stunning view of the cooler’s contents.
Stainless Steel with Wood Lip Racking
The smooth, seamless trim of these coolers provide a minimalist framework for your favorite wine bottles. The wood lip brings a touch of elegance to the coolers' strong lines and bold details. Low E glass and a compressor cooling sytem help maintain the perfect temperature for your precious collection.
Stainless Steel with Stainless Lip Racking
Add another level of polish to your living space with these beautifully designed wine coolers. The slim seamless trim along with matching stainless lip, will show off your wine collection and make your kitchen glow. Vinotemp made the Dynamic Cooling feature a necessary standard for this group of wine coolers. This cooling feature allows the relative humidity inside the unit and the temperature to be distributed evenly around the interior so you can store all of your wine under the exact same conditions.
